My Photography
My photography tends to explore themes and ideas around sexuality. These ideas may challenge you and therefore I invite you to view my work only with an open mind. If you cannot do that please enjoy the WWW elsewhere. If you are too young and do not have your parents permission to view erotic art please also go somewhere else.
With that said please enjoy my work almost all of the work you see here is for sale. I sell limited edition prints on archival matte papers printed with ultrachrome inks. Most of these are printed on Super B size paper of 13 x 19 image size varies. I also sell each of these items in unsigned 8.5 x 11 in versions and 5x7 versions as cards with envelopes.
Artist Statement
I try not to title my work. If I do I try to make a title as insignificant as possible, so that all it does is allow the viewer to distinguish between two different pieces of work. In most cases you will note I use numbers. Once in a while a piece gets a name.
I have found in many cases that the viewer looks to the title to tell them what to think. Its the only verbal or written clue form the artist about what their actual intent is. In many cases I am sure people read a whole bunch into the title in trying to get an explanation for a piece that bothers them or they cannot figure out. My preference is that the viewer come to their own conclusions about my work with as little input from me besides the image I created.
The viewers world view influences more of what she sees in my work than anything else. This is especially true for erotic works. It is my hope that my work serves as a catalyst for explorations of her world view. As an extreme example if I shot a nude lying in a dusty dirt road, someone who frequently sunbathes in the country may see someone taking a nap in the sun. Someone else who watches too much crime drama may see an abandoned crime victim. Any title I could give would influence that.
I feel somewhat the same way about artists statements. I am not going to give any clues or answers about what you should think. It is my intent to make images that make you think and hopefully pull you in to think a second and third time.
